Dr. Ann-Marie Madigan is a theoretical astrophysicist who explores the dynamics of stars and gas around supermassive black holes, dark matter in galaxies, and the icy worlds of the outer solar system. Born in Dublin, she was one of the first students in Ireland to receive an undergraduate degree in Astronomy (at the University of Ireland, Galway). She received her PhD in astronomy from Leiden University in The Netherlands and was a NASA Einstein Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Since 2016, she has been an assistant professor in the Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences department at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
